CONTROLLED MATERIAL LOGIC

Define the role before selecting the grade.

Scientific naming begins with one question: does the material remain in the final product, or does it leave at a defined process step?

MATERIAL ROLE MAP

Six roles. No ambiguous “film” label.

OCA itself is a permanent adhesive. OCA carrier, waste film and release liner are process materials. This distinction is fixed in ECLEAR’s product taxonomy.

RoleExamplesFinal state
01Permanent coatingHardcoat · anti-fog · photochromic · hydrophobicCured on lens, visor or glass
02Temporary protectionCG · polarizer · FPC · graphite · foam protectionRemoved after processing, transport or assembly
03Process carrier / guideOCA carrier · waste film · FPC carrier · UV guideRemoved after the defined process step
04Release linerOCA light/heavy liner · structural-tape linerRemoved before permanent bonding
05Permanent adhesiveOCA · PET tape · transfer adhesive · foam tapeRemains inside the finished assembly
06Permanent functional materialEMI · absorber · thermal · insulationRemains and performs an electronic or safety function

VALIDATION FLOW

From requirement to production release.

A product is not released because a family description sounds suitable. It moves through a controlled evidence chain.

SOURCE QUALIFICATION

Similar use does not mean equivalent material.

Two manufacturing grades share one ECLEAR model only after they meet the same controlled specification, test methods, aging trend, cleanliness and customer-line performance.

  • Golden sample established
  • Change-notification obligation
  • Batch and factory traceability
  • Customer substitution approval where required
